Home or favorite faire My home faire is GLMF (www.medievalfaire.com). I've worked there for five years, and love every minute of it. Come visit me in Avaloch!
About Me I'm a lover of the written word, and recently I've been bitten by the creative bug once again. I've spent the last two years in a depression. I was not aware how deep it ran until I started to pull out of it this past summer. I owe much of the gratitude to my beautiful friends who have shown me time and time again that they are not friends they are family. Does that explain who I am? Not quite, but it's a start...
Music Flogging Molly, Gogol Bordello, Any kind of bagpipe music, drums, you know stuff you hear at faire.
Movies Pride and Prejudice (A&E version); Wizard of Oz; Knight's Tale; Seven; Underworld
Books Favorite Authors: Holly Black, Annette Kurtis Klause, Stephenie Meyer,J.K. Rowling,Shakespeare, Anne and Christopher Rice and Jane Austen (to name the biggies).

A select few of my favorite books: Blood and Chocolate, The Catcher in the Rye, Pride and Prejudice, Tithe/Valient/Ironside, Twilight/New Moon/ Eclipse.

As you can tell I am very interested in young adult literature and primarily fantasy within that catagory.
Blood and Chocolate (werewolf love), Silver Kiss (vampire love), Harry Potter (do I really need to explain?), The Catcher in the Rye, Tithe (faerie love), Valiant (faerie love) and my newest obsession is Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series which includes Twilight (vampire love) and New Moon (vampire love and werewolf love), and now Eclipse.

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire Opens in 11 Days!

    Monday, June 29, 2009, 10:28 AM [General]

Well next weekend brings the final dress rehearsal for the cast of the Great Lakes Medieval Faire! Which means....GLMF will be opening its gates in 11 days. Are you ready? (www.medievalfaire.com

There are so many amazing things going on in the shire of Avaloch this year. It is of course, the year 1217 and we are celebrating The Lady of the Lake Festival with King Arthur, Queen Guinivere, and all the knights of the Round Table. How'ere, as with any good king, there is an evil usurper on the loose, and in our case it is the evil Duke Johnathon Wayneright accompanied by his sister the Lady Adonna Wayneright and the King's nephew Mordred. Will you cheer for the side of chivilary or villiany?

Come visit us in Avaloch. The cast has grown by more than half and so the streets of Avaloch will never be a dull place! Come eat, drink, and be merry with us! Don't forget ot visit Lady Ophelia's dance show conviently located in Town Square--flirting medieval style!

We open July 11th and run for six weekends Saturday and Sunday 10-7, Rain or Shine!

    See you in Avaloch,

    "Olivia Dozen" (Kara Anne)

P.S. If anyone is interested in buying pre-sale tickets at a discounted rate--I have them on my person! I will be selling tickets for the enterity of the run. Two dollars ($2.00) from every ticket sold will go directly to the Phoenix Players Street Cast (that's me and my people!) to help with costuming, props, gas money etc., as we are a volunteer organization.

Adult Tickets: From me: $18.00 / Gate: $19.95

    Children (5-12): From me: $5.00/ Gate: $ 5.95

    Kids 4-under are free!

Again, two dollars goes directly to the cast so we can continue to provide you all with a lovely, high quality show!

The Olde Caravan in the Media and GLMF

    Tuesday, May 5, 2009, 5:09 PM [General]

Well, another faire season has begun! The Olde Caravan had a rather successful performance in Buck's Eye Hollow at the 2009 OSU Ren Faire, with the exception of Jess' accident (ask her about the dangers of gypsy ball), from which she is recovering just fine. And The Olde Caravan mad media coverage once again:

    The Caption Read:

When King William the Conqueror walks by, it's best to bow - as did these commoners Saturday at the Medieval & Renaissance Faire at Ohio State University. Paying their respects were gypsies Sarah Anderson (behind the king), Erin Politzer, Kara Laughard, Kellie Stewart and Chelsea Vandergrift. Rob Bohman portrayed King William, and the theme of the fair was the Norman Invasion of 1066

The weather was beautiful, the people were lovely, the cast was playful, the music was sweet, and all things considered it was a great jumping off point for the 2009 season.

Speaking of the 2009 season (!), GLMF goes into rehearsals next weekend, May 16th, with 70+ cast members! This is sure to be a very good, very exciting, and very surprising season.

For those of you who don't know:

The Great Lakes Medival Faire opens July 11th and runs for six weekends until August 15th. ( www.medievalfaire.com )

Can't wait to see you all there!!

    Love,

    Kara
